Trailblazer Universities Program

The Trailblazer Universities Program provided AUD 370 million (2022-2026) to 6 industry-led university hubs to accelerate the commercialisation of research in five national priority sectors: defence, space, food and beverage, recycling and clean energy, and critical minerals. All 6 trailblazer grants were awarded in April 2022 to lead universities including Curtin, Adelaide, University of Queensland, University of Southern Queensland, Deakin, and UNSW. No new application rounds are planned — this program is in delivery phase only and is effectively wound down for new applicants.
