Postdoctoral Fellowships
Funds postdoctoral researchers in Flanders across junior, senior, and clinical tracks to build independent international careers.
FWO Postdoctoral Fellowships are Flemish post-PhD fellowships intended to support independent and internationally oriented research careers. The programme includes three tracks: a three-year Junior fellowship for recently completed PhDs, a three-year Senior fellowship for early-career researchers, and a Senior Clinical Investigator Fellowship for postdoctoral physicians and specialist pharmacists engaged in clinical practice. A dedicated Japan-JSPS track is available for postdocs undertaking work at a JSPS-recognized Japanese institute. The programme is annual, with the 2026 cycle deadline recorded as 17 November 2025. The track design is research-trajectory focused, with direct support for individuals rather than institutions as grant beneficiaries. Fellowship amounts are not published on the programme page, so fit is usually evaluated by the research path and track alignment rather than a fixed stipend scale.
No upcoming rounds verified. Cadence: Annual.
