Brains for Brussels attracts researchers currently working abroad or in the private sector to conduct pioneering academic research in Brussels. The PI must hold a doctorate and must have spent at least the last 2 years abroad in academic research, or at least 2 of the last 3 years in industrial R&D or innovation. The research organisation (not the individual) applies on the PI's behalf. Projects run for 3 years, renewable for a maximum of 2 further years. The 2026 cycle deadline was 16 February 2026, now marked ENDED on the source page. 2027 resumption is conditional on budget.
