Eurostars — Brussels Co-funding

Funds Brussels R&D SMEs participating in Eurostars international collaboration projects, covering 40 to 80 percent of project costs depending on company size and project type.

Eurostars is a European co-funding program co-financed by the European Commission and 38 EUREKA member states, designed to strengthen the competitiveness and innovation potential of European SMEs through international collaboration. The Brussels co-funding, administered by Innoviris, allows Brussels-based R&D SMEs to receive regional support for their participation in Eurostars projects. Brussels research centres must collaborate with at least one Brussels SME in the project. No partner may bear more than 70% of the total project cost. Applications are submitted directly through the Eurostars website (eurostars.eureka.be), with proposals collected and evaluated twice a year. Brussels applicants must then separately apply to Innoviris for regional funding within 28 days of the Eurostars evaluation. Funding: for companies, between 40% and 80% of project cost depending on company size and project focus (industrial research or experimental development). For research centres, 100% of project cost. Note: Innoviris announced on 24 March 2026 that no new projects can be funded in 2026 due to budget constraints. All programs are suspended. Applications submitted before the suspension remain in process and may be funded in 2027.
