FIRST Entreprise subsidizes a Walloon company hiring a researcher to carry out industrial research for 12 to 24 months, combined with a mandatory training placement in a recognized research centre. Three variants exist: the standard track (placement in a Walloon research centre), FIRST Entreprise International (placement in an EU or partner-country research centre), and FIRST Entreprise Docteur (for researchers holding a doctorate in natural sciences, applied sciences, agricultural sciences, medicine or veterinary medicine). Applications are reviewed by SPW Recherche, scored by an internal selection committee, and a decision — positive or negative — is guaranteed within 3 months of receipt of a complete file. There is no fixed annual call; submissions are accepted continuously throughout the year.
