Win4SpinOff

Supports Walloon academic departments building new spin-off ventures through a fully subsidized research development programme.

Win4SpinOff is a 100%-subsidized rolling program for Walloon university and higher-education college departments that wish to create a spin-off company. It funds a 2-year (extendable to 3-year) research project to develop and validate new products, processes or services intended for short-term industrial use, with a mandatory outcome of forming a spin-off company domiciled in Wallonia for at least 5 years post-project. This program is the direct successor and continuation of the legacy FIRST Spin-off scheme; the wallonie.be eligibility text explicitly treats both names as one continuous program. Applications are accepted on a rolling 'guichet' (window) basis — no fixed annual deadline. Covered costs include the researcher's full salary, €20,000 in department operating costs, €5,000 in external legal/financial consulting, €2,500 in entrepreneurship training fees, and 15% management overhead.
