R&D Feasibility Study (O&O haalbaarheidsstudie)
Supports short feasibility studies in Flanders to test technical viability before larger innovation projects.
O&O haalbaarheidsstudie (R&D Feasibility Study) is VLAIO's short preparatory grant for companies and other eligible organisations in the Flemish Region. It sits under the Flemish innovation agency and is meant to test whether a more ambitious research, development, or ICON follow-on is technically and scientifically viable. Support covers 40% of accepted costs, or 50% for small and medium-sized companies, with a cap of €50,000 per company partner and €500,000 per study when several partners participate. The study must run at least 3 months and no more than 1 year, and applications are accepted continuously online. The notes also set an annual cumulative ceiling of €8 million per applicant, or €12 million for certain SME or EU-cooperation projects. The route is for teams that need experimental evidence before they commit to a larger project. Pure idea generation, market studies, and short-term problem solving do not qualify. VLAIO wants the technical or scientific uncertainty tested first, so strong applications show a credible bridge from exploration to a later, larger innovation project.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
