BIRD Cyber
Runs BIRD Cyber is the cybersecurity track of BIRD Foundation the binational through the BIRD Cyber.
BIRD Cyber is the cybersecurity track of BIRD Foundation, the binational U.S.-Israel R&D foundation. It is an annual program for commercial companies that already have a cross-border partnership and want to build a product with participation from both countries. The program provides royalty-backed funding from $250,000 to $1.5 million, with a median award of $750,000. Applicants must be for-profit, registered as a U.S.-Israeli pair, operate at TRL 3 to 7, and bring at least 50% matching funding. The same project cannot stack with another BIRD award, which keeps the competition focused on new work rather than follow-on support. Its narrow scope makes it strongest for teams with a clear cybersecurity use case, a defined development plan, and a partner relationship that is ready to execute. The fit improves when the binational collaboration is already operational and the technology can move from applied research toward deployment under a royalty-backed, milestone-driven structure.
