EMBRAPII Unit Accreditation Public Calls (Chamadas Públicas — Unidade)

Supports Institutional calls to accredit new research units into the EMBRAPII network only to universities and research institutes, not companies.

EMBRAPII Chamadas Públicas is the accreditation track that brings universities, research institutes, hospitals, and similar scientific organizations into the EMBRAPII network as certified Unidades. It belongs to the same Brazilian industrial innovation system, but unlike the co-funding programs it does not finance a company project directly. Its purpose is to expand the delivery network that later executes industrial R&D with firms. The route is a recurring institutional call rather than a grant with a published award size. It is open only to Brazilian universities and research organizations that can qualify as accredited units, companies are excluded, consortia are not required, and the application language is Portuguese. The practical result is certification inside the EMBRAPII system and access to the co-funding model once the institution is accredited. This path is best for institutions that want a formal place in EMBRAPII's delivery network instead of a one-off project award. The deciding factor is institutional readiness: a credible research base, a field of expertise that can support industry work, and the capacity to take on partnered R&D after certification. It is strategic infrastructure for the system, not a direct commercialization grant.
