Regular Innovation Grant (Auxílio à Inovação Regular, AIR)
Supports Research institution innovation grants for São Paulo researchers developing market ready solutions.
Auxilio a Inovacao Regular is FAPESP's research-institution innovation grant for Sao Paulo researchers working on market-ready solutions. It is aimed at projects led from a public or private research organisation, with the responsible researcher holding a doctorate and experience in competitive innovation projects. The grant can reach R$ 600,000 over up to 36 months, and the researcher may not hold more than one AIR at a time. The 2026 call, Edital 18/2026, carries a R$ 12 million total pool and uses a 15 June 2026 deadline with results expected from October 2026. It is a grant route for organisations in Brazil, delivered in Portuguese and capped at one concurrent award per researcher. AIR is best for teams that already have institutional infrastructure and need a structured route from technical feasibility to market application. It sits alongside PIPE as a complementary channel, but its applicant is the research institution and its lead researcher rather than a company.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
