Indigenous Forestry Initiative (IFI)
Supports Indigenous communities and organizations developing forestry governance planning and economic capacity in Canada.
IFI renewed for 2026-2029 with $16.9M including $13M direct investment to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities. Two streams: Capacity Grants (up to $50K at 100% funding) for governance and planning, and Contribution Funding (up to $1M) for larger economic development projects. Restricted to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis individuals and entities.
