Pilot, Demonstration and Flagship Programme (P+D)

The P+D Programme supports projects that test new technologies in real environments (pilot), demonstrate market readiness (demonstration), or showcase groundbreaking energy concepts attracting widespread interest (flagship). Eligible applicants include Swiss private companies, SMEs, research institutions, and public-sector organisations — federal government administrative units are excluded. Funding covers up to 50% of non-amortisable costs (NAC) for demonstration projects, and up to 70% NAC for pilot projects in exceptional cases. Individual grants have reached multi-million CHF (e.g. CHF 4.4M awarded to Metafuels/PSI in July 2024). Projects must align with Switzerland's Energy Strategy 2050.
