ProKilowatt — Competitive for Tenders

ProKilowatt is a promotion programme of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy that supports uneconomical electricity efficiency measures through competitive tenders. Funded by an electricity network surcharge, ProKilowatt covers up to 30% of investment costs and selects projects based on a single criterion: electricity savings (kWh) per Swiss franc of public contribution. The programme runs two parallel streams: Projects (single-site or specific investments) and Programmes (coordinated rollouts across many participants, operated by utilities, associations, ESCOs, or NGOs). The 2026 call (17th edition) has CHF 70 million available — CHF 40M for projects and CHF 30M for programmes. Project applications with contributions up to CHF 2M can be submitted at any time during the call window; larger applications go through formal tender rounds.
