Innosuisse BRIDGE Discovery
Funds Innosuisse BRIDGE Discovery to sustain multi-year applied research translation into near-market applications.
Innosuisse BRIDGE Discovery is the discovery track of BRIDGE, the joint SNSF and Innosuisse programme at the interface of basic research and science-based innovation in Switzerland. It is aimed at experienced researchers who want to turn strong research results into an application with clear social or economic impact. In the current call, proposals go through mySNF, with the submission deadline set for 28 April 2026. The scheme uses grant funding and runs on an annual cycle. The record sets awards between 1.12 million and 2.8 million, with support covering salaries for project staff and research costs directly tied to the work. Individuals cannot apply alone; proposals may be submitted by an experienced researcher or by a consortium of up to three researchers, and the work must be based in Switzerland. BRIDGE Discovery is a strong fit for teams that can show scientific excellence and a credible route to an application, rather than a loose idea or a small pilot. Its place under two national agencies gives it a practical orientation: SNSF brings research stewardship, while Innosuisse connects the scheme to innovation use cases. The strongest applications keep the research question sharp and the future application visible.
