Innosuisse Innovation Booster

Offers Swiss Innovation Booster networks through co-created thematic challenge teams that test radical ideas in multi-stakeholder consortia.

Innovation Booster is Innosuisse's thematic-network programme for co-creating radical ideas. Each booster is a thematic initiative of around four years, run by a leading house with its own legal personality based in Switzerland, that brings together actors from research, business, politics and society to develop and test breakthrough solutions. The co-creation process has two phases. In the challenge stage, participants from research, business, politics and society analyse a problem in depth using agile and user-centric methods, and identify the most promising idea(s); up to CHF 25,000 can be granted to test selected ideas in the idea stage. Innovation teams carrying out the tests must include at least one research partner and one implementation partner. In the idea stage, the team tests the desirability, viability and feasibility of the chosen solution in an iterative, user-centric approach. Current ongoing boosters cover: Artificial Intelligence, Carbon Removal, Fashion & Lifestyle, Future Food Farming, Future Urban Society, New Mobility, and Sustainable Digital Finance. Calls to launch new boosters open every two years on average; as of 2026-05-15 no call is presently open.
