CORFO IP-CFT
Funds technology transfer partnerships in Chile for professional institutes and firms to validate innovations.
CORFO's IP-CFT 2030 program sits under Corporación de Fomento de la Producción, Chile's federal development agency. The current Fase V cycle in 2026 backs professional institutes and technical training centers that want to move applied research into company-linked innovation, with a national scope and a focus on projects at TRL 4 to 6. The instrument is a non-reimbursable subsidy with up to 80 percent co-financing and a maximum of CLP 30,000,000 per project. Eligible applicants are accredited IPs and CFTs with at least three years of accreditation, state CFTs, and certain higher-education institutions under article 52 of D.F.L. N° 2 of 2010 that do not offer undergraduate degrees. Every proposal must include at least one company partner. The strongest projects pair a defined prototype with a practical transfer path and a clear industrial counterpart. CORFO uses the program to push technology transfer rather than purely academic research, so applicants succeed when the solution is ready to be developed and validated with a company, the team can cover the remaining 20 percent, and the institutional mandate matches technical-vocational innovation.
