PIFI (President's International Fellowship Initiative)

CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative is a rolling, internationally open fellowship route for researchers who want to work at CAS institutes in China. It supports four track types: Distinguished Scientists for short visits, Visiting Scientists for medium-duration stays, Postdoctoral Researchers for one-to-two-year placements, and International PhD Students under the CAS-TWAS collaboration framework. Funding uses CNY for stipends and research support. Applications are initiated through a CAS host researcher rather than standalone self-submission, which makes host alignment central to acceptance. The programme is most suitable for applicants with a concrete placement destination and a clear role at a host institute.
