The Shanghai Sci-Tech Co-Research Program (上海伙伴科研计划/合作研究计划) supports foreign-national PhD researchers based at overseas universities or research facilities to conduct joint research with Shanghai host institutions. Funding is CNY 400,000 fixed per project over 24 months. PI must be under 45, hold a PhD from a world-class institution, and spend at least 6 cumulative months in Shanghai including one continuous 3-month block. The 2025 intake window ran October–November 2025; next cycle expected October–November 2026.
