Jameel Fund

Jameel Fund is a Community Jameel program established in 2021 to support research on coronaviruses, infectious disease, and, after a later expansion, other respiratory diseases. It sits within Imperial College London and King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, so the fund is organized through those host institutions rather than through a broad public call. The award ceiling is up to USD 65,000 for short-term projects, and eligibility is limited to faculty researchers at Imperial College London and faculty researchers at King Abdulaziz University. That makes the route highly specific: the program is built for university-based researchers already inside one of those two institutions, not for companies, individuals, or outside applicants. Community Jameel provides the funding, but applications move through the university channel that hosts the work. The program runs on a cycle basis and may be between rounds, so the practical fit is a small academic team with an infectious-disease or respiratory-disease project that can be advanced quickly and evaluated inside the partner institutions.
