BayTOU — Bavarian Technology-Oriented Start-ups Programme
Backs innovative organizations in Germany to connect innovation teams to commercialization pathways and real buyers.
BayTOU is Bavaria's technology-oriented startup grant route under Bayern Innovativ's Project Management Agency and the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. It supports company founders and young companies developing new products, processes, and technical services across technology sectors. The program is rolling and non-repayable. The program's funding logic splits between concept projects and development projects, and the development line reaches a maximum award of €150,000. Concept work can reach €26,000, and the development line can fund up to 45% of eligible costs, with software projects able to reach the €150,000 ceiling. Eligibility is limited to for-profit companies registered and operating in Germany, with teams up to ten people and companies up to six years old. BayTOU is strongest when the company can point to real technological risk, a clear market opening, and a project that strengthens the startup's technical base. The eligible cost base includes R&D staff, equipment, contract research, and patents, so the program suits practical development work rather than broad exploratory research.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
