HAW-ForschungsAkzente
Supports German universities of applied sciences through HAW-ForschungsAkzente grants for institution-specific applied research over multi-year periods.
HAW-ForschungsAkzente is the federal-and-state programme for applied research at German universities of applied sciences (HAWs), where each HAW defines themes under its own institutional strategy. Projects can run up to 36 months and are extendable by 12 months when doctoral work is part of the project. The programme is grant-based and explicitly excludes non-economic project categories from the institution’s ordinary economic activity. Publicly supported HAWs are fully eligible, while private HAWs are subject to a rising co-financing share, rising from 0% in 2024 toward 50% by 2030. A 20% overhead allowance is available for non-economic work.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
