Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC)
Supports student engineering competitions building next generation wind energy professionals.
The Collegiate Wind Competition is a WETO-hosted, student-team engineering competition in the United States for wind energy design and demonstration. University teams design and test small wind turbines and produce wind-farm proposals. Teams advance through three regional finals—Pacific, Central, and Eastern—before a national championship. This is a prize format rather than a grant mechanism, with strongest fit for student-led multidisciplinary teams that can deliver both a design-and-test sequence and a portfolio-quality wind-farm concept.
