E-SCRAP Prize

Pays U.S. entrepreneurs up to $800,000 per team, across three phases, to build cheaper ways of recovering critical materials from electronic scrap.

The competition runs in three phases: Phase 1 (Incubate) already picked 10 winners who each received $50,000 cash and $30,000 of national-lab support; Phase 2 (Prototype) pays $150,000 cash and $120,000 of lab support per winner; Phase 3 (Demonstrate) pays winners $600,000 cash. As of this snapshot the prize's continuation is pending administration guidance and it is closed to new competitors.
