Estonian Research CouncilEstoniaGrant

The Personal Research Funding suite is ETAG's primary national instrument for individual researchers. It comprises three grant tracks: PUTJD (postdoctoral grant for PhD holders seeking international experience), PSG (starting grant for researchers building independent careers and mentoring teams), and PRG (team grant for established researchers and their groups implementing high-level research). All three operate on an annual cycle with calls announced per year (Call 2025, Call 2026 referenced on the program page). Financial details and precise deadlines are published per cycle in individual call announcements — the program index page does not carry award amounts or deadline dates. Applicants must be researchers at Estonian institutions. This instrument is the historical successor to the PUT personal research grant scheme, which remains a colloquial reference in the Estonian research community.
