Circular Economy Fund (Fonds Économie Circulaire)

Supports waste reduction and material recovery facilities for enterprises and local authorities.

Fonds Économie Circulaire is ADEME's structural envelope for circular-economy policy in France. It carries an annual budget of €164M, plus €236M under the recovery plan, and it sits behind projects that reduce waste and recover more value from materials across municipal and industrial settings. The grant line funds sorting and recycling facilities, material recovery, and waste-prevention work for enterprises and local authorities. It runs on a rolling basis through sub-calls, including ORMAT, the Objectif Recyclage MATières call that stays open until 31 December 2026. For-profit and non-profit applicants can both fit, while universities, research organisations, and individuals do not. The strongest fit is a project with a clear route from waste stream to usable feedstock or a credible infrastructure plan for collection, sorting, or recycling. ADEME's circular-economy envelope is built for operators that can show operational scale, local execution, and a real material outlet, not for abstract concepts or early research.
