ANR LabCom

Funds ANR LabCom to create shared laboratories where universities and firms build commercially oriented applied research collaborations.

French National Research AgencyFranceGrant

ANR LabCom creates a common laboratory between a public research lab and a microbusiness, SME, or mid-market company. Its purpose is long-term partnership and knowledge transfer, not a one-off subcontract, and the model is built to keep the academic and industrial sides working together over time. The programme sits under ANR in France and is run through a dedicated call for proposals. An annual cycle comes with two to three selection sessions per year, a 50-month duration, and subsidy levels from about EUR214,000 to EUR642,000, with the academic side as the direct recipient. The company partner must be established in France and at least three years old according to the programme description. The route is consortial and is designed for a public lab plus company structure rather than for individual applicants. LabCom is strongest when the laboratory and the company want a shared platform, shared methods, or a durable transfer path. Applicants should be able to show that the partnership is more than a short project and that the collaboration can survive beyond the funded period. It fits teams that want routine research exchange and practical transfer, especially where the company and lab are already close enough to build on existing work.
