France Pioneers of Artificial Intelligence (France Pionniers de l'Intelligence Artificielle)
Funds French artificial intelligence projects building sovereign technology infrastructure and core model capabilities.
France 2030 Pionniers de l'Intelligence Artificielle is a large France 2030 grant call under Bpifrance, with an operational role for the Agence de programmes Numérique in the industrial partnership and company-creation tracks. It targets sovereign French AI projects built around foundation models, compute, and vertical AI platforms. Awards run from EUR 5.35 million to EUR 107 million. The call uses a three-phase path: phase 1 is funded at 100%, while phases 2 and 3 cap enterprise support at 50% and research organisations at 100%. The 2026 cycle opened on 11 September 2025 and closed with a final relay on 2 June 2026. The scheme is built for coordinated consortia that can carry a use case through repeated review rather than for a single-shot proposal. It is strongest where the project links AI capability to strategic sectors such as industrial design and production, health, ecological transition, or security, and where each phase has a clear technical milestone.
