National Research Infrastructures (NRIs)
Funds researchers through National Research Infrastructures, helping them access shared facilities and infrastructure partnerships.
The National Research Infrastructures (NRIs) programme funds large, distributed Greek research-infrastructure consortia included in the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures 2021-2027. The Roadmap caps at 20 NRIs and builds on the 28 infrastructures funded under the Multiannual Budgeting Plan 2014-2020, which were independently reviewed by the European Commission's Policy Support Facility. Eligible expenses cover equipment (≥50% of budget), personnel, intangible assets, contract research, consumables, building refurbishment and indirect costs (flat 25%). The action is structured as a two-step Call for Expression of Interest: a first step pre-selects RIs for inclusion in the Roadmap (deadline January 2024), a second step (deadline September 2025) collects full four-year financial and development plans from successful 1st-step consortia. Maximum public expenditure per proposal is €4 M (new/preparatory RIs), €6 M (mature RIs) or €8 M (mergers of existing RIs). Total programme budget 120 M EUR, eligibility period for expenditures ends 31/12/2029. Projects max 4 years; post-3-year KPI review can unlock an additional 15% budget increase.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
