Around two grants of roughly EUR 7.5 million each are expected, and the Commission will fund at least one top-ranked project in concentrated solar power and at least one in solar thermal heat/cold. Projects must clear a go/no-go milestone — with detailed engineering plans, a techno-economic assessment and all needed permits — before entering the demonstration phase.
