IARPA MOVES

Funds video-based movement analysis for neurological assessment applications in intelligence and security contexts.

IARPA MOVES, the Movement Observation and Video-based Evaluation System, is an IARPA program under the Emerging Technology Accelerator that uses video analytics to identify neurological conditions from movement patterns. Its purpose is to support medical intelligence analysis by extracting health-related signals from open-source video footage. The program is run as a prototype other transaction agreement, with white papers accepted on a rolling basis after Q&A posting. The first wave was due on 30 June 2026. The available material does not publish an award ceiling, but it does set the usual ETA constraints: U.S.-based primes, foreign participation only as subcontracting, and no eligibility for government agencies, FFRDCs, or UARCs. MOVES rewards teams that can build credible movement-analysis systems and connect them to a diagnosis or screening workflow that holds up in intelligence settings. The best proposals are likely to pair strong computer vision with careful validation, because the program is not looking for generic video classification. It is a focused route for groups that can turn mobility signals into a defensible analytical tool.
