The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship funds individual postgraduate students (Master's and PhD) for ambitious research across all disciplines; emerging-field and interdisciplinary projects are specifically encouraged. Scholarships are awarded in the student's own name, not to supervisors or institutions. The annual scholarship value is up to €34,000, comprising a €25,000 stipend, a fee contribution of €5,750 (€9,750 for non-EU students), and €3,250 in eligible direct costs. Duration is 1–4 years. Strategic co-funders include the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Children, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Met Éireann. The 2026 cycle is closed; results expected end of April 2026.
