Conference and Event Sponsorship Scheme

Provides small grants for health research events in Ireland to expand dissemination and practitioner collaboration.

HRB (Health Research Board Ireland)IrelandGrant

The Conference and Event Sponsorship Scheme is one of HRB's small awards for health research events in Ireland. It supports conferences, workshops, and similar gatherings that build research capacity or help research reach practice and policy audiences. Grants go up to €5,000 per event, and the scheme runs in two cycles each year. The second 2026 cycle opens in June 2026, with decisions expected around mid-September. Eligible applicants include institutions, registered charities, and HRB-recognised host institutions with a health-related remit; for-profit organisations are excluded. The scheme is limited to events on the island of Ireland. The applicants that fit best are those with a concrete programme, a clear health research audience, and a practical reason for the event beyond networking alone. HRB uses the scheme to strengthen collaboration and visibility in the field, so proposals with a credible agenda, named speakers, and a direct contribution to capacity or impact are the natural match.
