US-Ireland R&D Partnership Programme
Supports Tri-jurisdictional research collaboration across United States Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The US-Ireland R&D Partnership Programme supports tri-jurisdictional collaborative research spanning the United States, the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland. Projects must include at least one academic applicant from each of the three jurisdictions with significant participation across all three. Thematic focus includes sensors, nanoscale science, telecommunications, energy and sustainability, cybersecurity, health, and agriculture. Four streams operate under partner agency co-funding: NSF stream (Research Ireland + Dept for the Economy NI), NIH stream (Research Ireland + Health Research Board RoI + HSC R&D Division + UKRI-MRC NI), Agriculture stream (Dept of Agriculture Food & the Marine RoI + DAERA NI), and a Centre-to-Centre stream. Submissions are rolling per stream. The Irish component award range is €350,000–€700,000 over up to 5 years.
