IIA International R&D Collaborations
Supports Israeli firms with international innovation partnerships in major global partner markets.
IIA International R&D Collaborations sits under the Israel Innovation Authority as the bilateral route for Israeli companies working with foreign partners on joint development. The record groups the program family around BIRD with the United States, SIIRD with Singapore, I4F with India, and KORIL with Korea. It is a collaboration channel, not a domestic-only grant line. Funding covers 20 percent to 50 percent of the approved R&D budget for the Israeli partner, over as long as 24 months, with awards in the record ranging from NIS 500,000 to NIS 10 million and a typical median of NIS 2 million. The program is open to for-profit Israeli companies, requires a consortium, and sits in a TRL 3 to TRL 7 band. Royalty-back terms apply to the Israeli partner under standard authority rules. The strongest applications pair a real foreign counterpart with a scope that both sides can execute, because the foreign partner is funded separately by its home agency. Applicants do best when the joint work package is clear, the technical fit matches the bilateral program, and the Israeli company can show enough maturity to carry development across the full 24-month window.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
