Drug Discovery Support Network (DDSN)
Provides cutting-edge screening and optimization technologies across drug modalities through three research organizations.
The Drug Discovery Support Network (DDSN) pulls together three public research organizations — RIKEN, the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBIOHN), and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science (AIST) — to support the iD3 Booster program. Established in 2013, the network provides cutting-edge technologies for high-throughput screening (HTS) and lead optimization and characterization across drug modalities including small molecular synthetic compounds, natural compounds, monoclonal antibodies, and nucleic acids. AMED's iD3 department performs a headquarters function to coordinate collaboration among the three institutions. This is a government-coordinated research infrastructure, not a competitive grant program open to external applicants.
