JETRO's Subsidy Program for Global Innovation Centers covered the cost of foreign companies setting up R&D centres, experimental studies and feasibility studies in Japan in collaboration with Japanese companies, universities and organisations. The programme targeted IoT and regenerative medicine fields, with 16 projects funded from January 2016 to March 2017 under the FY2015 supplementary budget. The programme is wound down. The last application period ran from February 16 to October 14, 2016, with projects required to complete by February 3, 2017. The program does not appear on the current incentive index and there is no FY2026 reinstatement signal.
