JETRO Startup Acceleration Programs

JETRO Startup Acceleration Programs is the umbrella around JETRO's startup work for Japanese founders going global. Since 2013, it has run 15 acceleration streams that together support more than 700 Japanese startups a year, with activity spread across 29 offices and more than 50 business partners worldwide. The programs are non-cash and equity-free. Founders get mentoring, market-entry support, partner introductions, and investor access rather than grants or loans, with flagship streams including GSAP, the Global Acceleration Hub, X-HUB Tokyo, Alchemist Japan, Techstars Tokyo, SIDO NEXT INNOVATOR, and J-StarX. The umbrella is strongest for startups that need a route into overseas markets and can benefit from partner networks instead of capital. GSAP carries the most visible live intake, while the other streams run on their own schedules, so applicants should match the specific track to the target market and stage. The practical value is access to mentors, partner accelerators, and introductions that can shorten the path into U.S., European, and Asian startup ecosystems.
