KORIL-RDF Lighthouse Project sits under the Korea-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation and is its largest bilateral track for private companies in Korea and Israel. It is built for joint industrial R&D with commercial upside, and it matters most when both sides need a project large enough to justify a long development cycle and cross-border market work. The program offers recoverable advances of up to USD 5 million over 36 months, with support reaching as much as 66% of direct R&D costs. A Korean-Israeli consortium is required, the civilian sector only is eligible, and companies must be registered and operating in Korea or Israel. Applications are handled twice a year in English, and the foundation’s wider structure is denominated in USD. The strongest applicants are teams that can show a real commercial route across both markets, not just a technical collaboration. Lighthouse projects are the right fit when the partners already know how they will share development, ownership, and revenue, because repayment is tied to commercial success rather than an upfront cash grant.
