KEIT Carbon Neutrality Program

Funds industrial decarbonization projects in Korea through KEIT Carbon Neutrality support for manufacturing and low-emission process transitions.

The KEIT Carbon Neutrality Program is KEIT's federal R&D route for industrial decarbonization in South Korea. Its 2026 budget is KRW 257.25 billion, and it supports work on core carbon-neutral industry technology, hydrogen-based ironmaking demonstrations, and carbon-free fuel-based NCC process technology. Awards again run from KRW 500 million to KRW 5 billion, with a median around KRW 1.5 billion. The same Korean eligibility profile applies: for-profit applicants are required, non-profits are allowed, consortia are required, and applicants need Korean registration and operations plus 30% matching funds. The programme is written for TRL 4 to TRL 8 projects. Its industrial logic is visible in the named demonstration partners, including POSCO, LG Chem, and SK Innovation. This is the right route for teams working on heavy-industry emissions, hydrogen-based steel, or low-carbon feedstock processing where a large industrial partner can anchor deployment. The programme rewards projects that can move from lab evidence into a credible demonstration path inside Korea's manufacturing base.
