KEIT Manufacturing Base Program

Funds Korean industrial robotics and AI product commercialization through KEIT Manufacturing Base initiatives using consortium-based financing.

KEIT's Manufacturing Base Program is the industrial R&D track for robot industry technology, design industry technology, and AI-enabled product commercialization. Its 2026 budget is KRW 589.8 billion, and the program reflects Korea's push to strengthen industrial robotics and bring AI products into market. Awards usually range from KRW 500 million to KRW 5 billion a year, with a median actual award of KRW 1.5 billion. The track is consortium-driven, requires a 30 percent match, and uses annual rounds with Korean-language documentation. Eligible projects are expected to be anchored in Korea and to sit in the TRL 4 to 8 band. The strongest proposals connect robotics, design capability, and commercialization into a single industrial use case. Teams that can work through a multi-party consortium and show a credible route to production or deployment are best placed. The program is a natural fit for established manufacturing players rather than exploratory concept-stage ventures.
