Early-Stage Startup Package
Provides Commercialization grant for startups old, supporting long-term sustainable commercialization and growth.
The Early-Stage Startup Package is a Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development program for Korean startups with up to three years of operating history. KISED uses it as a first commercialization route for young companies that need money to turn an idea into a testable product and the materials needed to reach early buyers. In 2025 the programme carried a KRW 112.4 billion budget and was expected to support about 1,100 companies. Awards go up to KRW 100 million per company and can cover prototype development, IP protection, marketing assets, certifications, accounting work, and MVP customer feedback research. The application path runs from public notice to application, evaluation, selection, and commercialization support. Applicants submit a business plan, presentation, and business registration certificate, which keeps the route aimed at registered for-profit startups rather than informal teams. The programme fits founders who can show a clear product path and use state-backed capital to tighten a launch package before early revenue is stable. KISED's structure favors practical commercialization milestones over abstract research goals, so a strong application usually ties funding to prototype readiness, market validation, or the compliance and branding work that clears the way to sale.
