Korea Global TIPS is the later-stage international expansion route in the TIPS system under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KISED. It supports Korean startups that already have overseas investor backing and want to use that traction for cross-border growth. The program combines R&D and commercialization support of up to KRW 6 billion, and the 2026 version raises the foreign VC requirement to USD 1 million from USD 300,000. It is an annual grant route for for-profit Korean SMEs with overseas investment, generally around TRL 4 to TRL 7, and it keeps the same private-backed logic that underpins the rest of TIPS. The best fit is a company that can already show foreign capital, product traction, and a clear international market plan. Because the program is tied to overseas investment proof, applicants tend to succeed when the financing story and the expansion story reinforce each other rather than sitting as separate claims.
