Meta Research PhD Fellowship

Meta's Research PhD Fellowship supports doctoral students whose work aligns with Meta's research agenda. The program is global, runs annually, and is built around full tuition and fees plus a $42,000 yearly stipend for living costs and conference travel, with fellows also invited to Meta headquarters for the Fellowship Summit. Applications open in August, close in September, reference letters are due in October, and decisions arrive in January. The fellowship covers two years and is open to students at any stage of the PhD. Meta lists 24 eligible topic areas, spanning AR/VR hardware, AI systems, distributed systems, privacy, security, networking, programming languages, applied statistics, computational social science, economics, and technology policy.
