Eco Business Credit (Eco Crédito Empresarial)
Funds equipment replacement financing for Mexican businesses cutting energy use in commercial operations.
Eco Crédito Empresarial is Nacional Financiera's equipment-replacement financing route for businesses that want to cut energy use in commercial operations. It is co-administered with FIDE and combines bank debt with a partial rebate on the equipment replacement cost, so the structure is financing-led rather than a standalone grant. The loan reaches MXN 2,000,000, runs for up to 60 months, and is priced at up to 13% plus IVA annually. The eligibility profile is narrow enough to reflect the program's energy-efficiency purpose. Applicants must be operating businesses registered in Mexico, with at least one year in business, and they need the relevant CFE commercial tariff classification, including PDBT, GDBT, or GDMTO. The financing is meant for replacing energy-inefficient commercial equipment, so the use of proceeds has to be tied to a measurable efficiency upgrade rather than general expansion. This route suits companies that can point to a concrete equipment problem and a credible payback story. The rebate lowers the effective cost, but borrowers still need to carry and service the loan, which means ordinary credit readiness matters. Firms that already understand their utility profile and can document the operating benefit from replacement are in the best position to use the program well.
