Automate ND Grant Program
Funds North Dakota manufacturers with support for automation that raises production efficiency through modern systems.
The Automate ND Grant Program supported North Dakota Primary Sector Certified manufacturers and agricultural processors that were investing in automation technology. It sat under the North Dakota Department of Commerce, drew from a $5 million ARPA pool appropriated by the 67th Legislative Assembly special session, and is now closed. The programme reimbursed up to 50% of machinery, equipment, or software costs, with a maximum award of $500,000 per recipient. It ran as a one-off cycle, accepted for-profit businesses operating in North Dakota, and limited eligibility to primary-sector certified companies. The support was aimed at firms that could turn capital purchases into measurable production gains rather than general overhead. Automate ND was built for capital projects that could show a direct productivity gain from automation rather than a broad operating subsidy. The department has not announced a reopening date, so applicants should treat the programme as closed until Commerce publishes a new solicitation.
