Challenge Programme
Funds Challenge Programme to support large-scale themed consortium grants high-ambition research on annually defined societal scientific challenges.
The Challenge Programme funds ambitious multi-year research consortia within annually selected themes addressing major societal or scientific challenges. The 2027 cycle runs four themes with a total budget of up to DKK 600 million. Individual grants reach DKK 30-75 million over 6 years. At least one applicant must be employed at a Danish university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation. Two-stage process: Stage 1 expression of interest; shortlisted consortia submit full application and attend interview in Stage 2.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
