Equinor Ventures (Norwegian sovereign-linked)
Funds Equinor Ventures in Norway for high-impact energy, maritime, and industrial innovation.
Equinor Ventures is the corporate venture arm of Equinor ASA, the Norwegian energy company. It backs early-phase and growth companies in renewables, low-carbon solutions, and other future business opportunities, with a portfolio concentrated in Europe and North America but open globally. The program is equity only. Typical investments run from about $5 million to $50 million, with a median near $15 million, and the fit points to for-profit companies in energy and clean tech at roughly TRL 5-9. The route is rolling, so applicants should expect an open-ended process rather than a seasonal competition. Equinor Ventures is strongest where strategic capital can also unlock pilots, technical collaboration, and access to a real operating value chain. It is designed for companies that can work as minority-backed partners and use that access to move from promising technology to industrial deployment, testing, and scale, with the operating feedback often as useful as the capital itself.
