RCN Research Centres — SFF, FME, PETROSENTER
Supports Long-term Norwegian research centres grants and for research organisations covering basic science clean energy and petroleum CCS.
RCN runs three active flagship research-centre schemes in 2026, each requiring approved research organisations to apply. SFF VI (Centres of Excellence, Phase 2) is Norway's most prestigious basic-research centre scheme with 10-year funding; FME provides 10-year centres for environment-friendly energy research with NOK 60–120M per centre from a NOK 240M pool; PETROSENTER funds up to 8-year petroleum research centres at NOK 80–120M each from a NOK 240M pool. All three have September–November 2026 deadlines. The SFI (Centres for Research-Based Innovation) scheme is currently between calls — last ran approximately 2025, next cycle expected 2027/28.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
