Supports Philippines Japan bilateral joint research grants for Filipino researchers with JSPS-eligible Japanese counterparts.

Department of Science and TechnologyPhilippinesJapanGrant

The DOST-JSPS Joint Research Project supports bilateral scientific cooperation between Philippine researchers at HEIs/RDIs and their counterparts at JSPS-eligible Japanese institutions. Both sides must submit matching applications simultaneously — DOST (Filipino side) and JSPS (Japanese side); single-side applications are not accepted. DOST funds up to PHP 2.5 million per year per project, including international travel between the Philippines and Japan. The program runs annually; the FY2026 cycle (deadline September 2025) is closed. The FY2027 cycle is expected in late 2026.
