DOST-PCIEERD issues bilateral joint research calls with foreign counterpart agencies. Active 2026 calls include the AEI (Spain) pilot call (up to 4 proposals, DPMIS deadline 19 May 2026) and the MECO-TECO (Taiwan) Joint Research Project (up to 5 projects, PHP 20M envelope, full proposals due 11 June 2026). Both require matching applications by the foreign counterpart on their respective national portals. Funding for the Philippine side is covered by DOST-PCIEERD under standard GIA eligibility rules (HEIs, RDIs, non-profit S&T organizations). Bilateral cooperation programs may expand to additional partner countries in future cycles.
